Research in 3D museums
All my life I’ve loved visiting museums. I had the opportunity (while I was studying in Europe) to visit some of the most beautiful museums. I remember I was in the Museum D’orsay watching the “sunflowers” painting from artist Van Gogh. I was overwhelmed by it and I wished more and more people could see it and have that personal experience. That is when the idea of creating online replicas of the museums came to my mind. Most of the people wont be able to travel to all the museums because lack of time or money. We can offer them the opportunity to have a similar experience using educational tools such 3d Environments and the internet.
In January 2010, Dr. Greg Jones and I were awarded a small grant to work on this project. So far it has been a great experience.
